Happy New Year

mcj043623600001.pngI know that it’s a little late for New Year’s wishes, but I haven’t posted since before Christmas and it is the new year, so Happy New Year!

We did get home for Christmas on the friday before, about 8:00 at night. We delivered fairly early in the day, after chasing around northern Maryland trying to find the place we were supposed to deliver, and then stopped in Frederick for some quick (ha!!!) Christmas shopping and a meal. We got to my sister’s house and moved in and went to bed…we were tired.

The days leading up to Christmas were filled with family time, shopping, seeing movies (GO to see P.S. I Love You) and just general hanging out.

The highlights of Christmas, at least for me, was the quilt that DH got from my aunt and the puppy that my Mom got from my Dad. He did a good job of keeping that one quiet, since they picked it up a week before Christmas and a friend of my sister’s kept her. I did get an iPod from my honey, and now I can listen to my podcasts and other things without having to have the laptop out, YAY!!!!

The day after Christmas, as has been our habit for the last several years, we headed down to Virginia Beach to see my husbands sons. All three of them live down there and we go to visit them after Christmas with my family. I do think that this was the last year for that, though, as the hotel we have stayed at for the last 4 years is changing to a Hampton Inn and will no longer accept pets.

We left my sister’s house on New Year’s eve and went to a truckstop for the evening and crashed for 14 hours…I’d say we were a little tired. We didn’t see the ball drop, didn’t ring in the new year and woke up in 2008. Welcome to the new year

We spent New Years day doing a little retailing and then Wednesday picked up a load and were off again. We have been running pretty constant since then, except for the 4 days spent in Houston waiting on a load, but that’s part of the game.

I have been doing some knitting on the truck…I’m actually almost done with the Tulip baby cardigan from a kit I bought from Pick up Sticks and it’s absolutely adorable. I have to agree with Stephanie, these little sweaters could get addicting if they weren’t so expensive, but nothing but the best for grandbabies.

I am still working on the socks for my mom. I lost the pattern for a bit (it’s found now) and so couldn’t work on them for a bit and now, I’ve been working on the sweater, so everything else got pushed to the side.  I also cast on for a pair of baby socks, so I see quite a bit of baby knitting in my future.

I guess the pictures may or may not work.  I am going to have to upload them to photobucket, which works a whole lot better than flickr does, at least for word press.

I have had this post mostly done for a couple of weeks and just haven’t posted it, so I’m going to post it now and then come back in the near future with the finished pictures of the Tulip Cardigan and maybe some other things.

Catch you soon!
